It saddens me to report that Vehicle Operator CMSgt (R) Mike Lowry passed away on 9 Mar 2007. Chief entered the Air Force in Aug 1969. His assignments included Lockboure AFB Ohio, Anderson AFB Guam, Loring AFB ME, Rickenbacher AFB Ohio, Sheppard AFB TX, Fairchild AFB WA, Offutt AFB NE, Barksdale AFB LA, Howard AFB Panama, Andrews AFB MD, and numerous classifed deployments. CMSgt Lowry gave so much to the career field, particulary during his time at the school house through the beginning of many transitions for the career field. He earned the Master Instructor rating in 1983. Mike will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetary on 11 Apr 2007. Anyone attending the burial servce should meet at the Chapel at 1430 to be taken to the site. Keep your thoughts and prayers with the Chief's family; wife Paula, daughter Heather and son Scott, during this difficult time. It's a sad occassion for transporters worldwide. RIP Chief.

Immediately following the service on April 11, at 2:30 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetary, we will have a wake for Mike at Ireland's Four Courts in Arlington, Virginia. All are welcome. We have a room reserved in the back of the bar from 4:30 p.m. on. Food and drinks will be served. The only requirement is that we all have a great time together in Mike's honor! He would want everyone to tell jokes and stories, laugh, drink and have fun. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

The bar is easily accessible from the Metro. From Arlington Cemetary take the Blue Line towards Largo Town Center Metro Station and exit at the first stop at Rosslyn Metro Station. Switch trains at Rosslyn and take the Orange Line towards Vienna and exit at the first stop at Courthouse.

For those staying at the Holiday Inn Rosslyn, when leaving the bar take the Orange Line toward New Carrollton and exit at the first stop at Rosslyn Metro Station.
