More with Bruce Willis, TSgt Dion Kennedy of McGuire AFB NJ to his right. This was taken in Sep 03 in the AOR. The more pix I see like this the more I admire these guys who give of themselves to visit our troops, regardless of their political beliefs.

This is the first of 9 pix of convoy operations in the AOR. This was this group's first convoy ops out of Bagdad. The Maj is the ELRS/CC and the "salty old geezer" in the flack jacket is the AEG/CC. They knew the inherent danger of what they asked the 2T1's to do and insisted they be a part of it. Sirs, I salute you! The accompaning gun vehicles each had turret mounted 50's. Maintaining speed, precision and situational awareness of the convoy was a "huge" factor to success. Civilian vehicles were kept out of the area and the shotgun's weapon was shouldered in plain sight as vehicles passed. The sender reports they had 47 more days if it and he was already mentally exhausted after the first one! Keep up the viligance and God Speed.
