TRIVIA
Once again Paul Canham was first in with the correct answer. The answer to last Trivia is: 7 Spiders. Assuming 6 legs for each insect, 26 insects would have 186 legs. But - there are 170-156=14 extra legs. It is important to note that spiders have 8 legs and flies have 6 legs, so there are 2 extra legs per spider on the web. Thus 14 extra legs belong to 7 spiders. Ok folks - see if you can beat Paul on this one! A large water tank has two inlet pipes (a large one and a small one)and one outlet pipe. It takes one hour to fill the tank with the large inlet pipe. On the other hand, it takes five hours to fill the tank with the small inlet pipe. The outlet pipe allows the full tank to be emptied in 6 hours. What fraction of the tank (initially empty) will be filled in 0.24 hours if all three pipes are in operation? Give your answer to two decimal places. (e.g. 0.25, 0.5 or 0.75) |
| There was a recent article in Air Force Print News about a group of dedicated and innovative transporters who solved the problem at hand; getting much needed supplies to airmen at remote locations in the AOR. Col Duane Jones, chief of logistics for Combined Forces Air Component Command, said there was more stuff to move than could be moved. The Air Force was lower on the priority totem pole than they wanted to be, so once again, Veh Ops to the rescue. The troops deployed to the 332nd AEW came up with a fleet of leased trucks with 2T1s behind the wheel and dubbed it "Red Tail Express". Jones said it was a case of Air Force Transporters at it's best! Doesn't surprise me in the least - ya'll are AWESOME!! |
